Report on school visits to clinical engineering technologist training schools (November 2022 - February 2023)
With the cooperation of the Japan Association of Clinical Engineering Technologist Training Facilities (Representative Director: Professor Akio Nakajima), in the fall of 2022, we solicited free lectures from clinical engineering technologist training schools nationwide about our foundation's overseas activities. It seemed that all the students had envisioned a career plan of working in medical institutions after obtaining their clinical engineering technologist qualifications, and they were surprised to learn that clinical engineering technologists are actually working overseas. Witnessing firsthand that the Japanese clinical engineering technologist system is valued overseas and that clinical engineering technologists are needed in Asian countries abroad, many students commented, "I now have a dream of working overseas someday," and "I've started thinking about taking on a global career."
Unlike other medical professions, it seemed difficult for clinical engineers to imagine overseas support, but after seeing the actual footage, they will likely take pride in the fact that their profession is valued around the world and strive to improve themselves as clinical engineers. This foundation project has given the students great hope and dreams.
